Whether you are already connected, wanting to redesign or you are only just starting to think about connecting to the NBN we here at Alpha IT Solutions have you covered.

What You Need to Know

We help to manage the extra services attached to you NBN™, these services are referred to as Special Services. Special Services are a set of business telecommunication products (excluding standard landline phone or internet services) delivered on copper. These include, but are not limited to, Ethernet Lite, Frame Relay, Megalink, DDS Fastway, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and Customnet.

For most businesses, switching these services over is not an automatic process. If your Special Services are affected you will need to arrange new services prior to your expected disconnection date. Otherwise, you risk losing access to your critical services.

As there are a number of steps involved in switching to the NBN™ access network, we recommend contacting your service provider at least six months in advance so they have enough time to get your new systems up and running before we come in to help.


Making Changes

We recognise your NBN™ assets or infrastructure may occasionally need to be altered, relocated, removed or protected. It’s important to note that by law, only NBN™ and our authorised contractors may work on NBN™ assets and infrastructure. This means that any interference, including unauthorised tampering, damage or modifications, may result in legal action. NBN™ reserves all of its rights in relation to the cost of recovery, reinstatement and repair of assets and infrastructure impacted by unauthorised works. However, some cabling work may be performed by registered cablers. Keep in mind, NBN™ is a member of Dial Before You Dig. To help avoid accidental damage and costly repairs, please ensure you’re aware of the location of any underground cables in your area. Simply contact Dial Before You Dig on 1100 or via the Dial Before You Dig website. This will help you to minimise the risk of serious damage to our assets – or other utilities such as power, gas or water – and will help to ensure that critical services in your community keep working. 

Apply early and provide NBN™ with as much advance notice of your plans as possible.
